Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this '66 Mustang. This car has had over $20,000 spent in recent restoration work, primarily by a local Mustang restoration company, Mid-Cities Mustang Inc. They are responsible for an extensive engine rebuild and the refinish of the paint. We have receipts verifying the work performed. The paint and body were completed in June 2013, along with interior restoration. The engine was rebuilt in February, 2014. The transmission was rebuilt previously, in March of 2012. This is a beautiful, road-worthy Mustang you can enjoy.
The recent professional finish was done in black base/clearcoat, again completed in June, 2013. The paint is exceptionally nice on this Mustang, as is the body and undercarriage condition. It rides on custom 14-Inch Mangel Custom wheels with 195/70R14 radials front to back. The bumpers have also been re-chromed. This is a very attractive car.
The body is good and straight down either side. The paint has an excellent gloss. The front end displays beautiful paint and chrome along with the stock M-U-S-T-A-N-G lettering and running horse emblem. Open the door to 1966. Note the chrome surround on the rear window is in very good condition.
The upholstery displays the standard black crinkle vinyl upholstery in great shape front to back. This interior underwent an extensive restoration effort in June, 2013. The seating has been replaced as has the dash pad along with numerous trim pieces. Billet aluminum window cranks and door interior handles were also installed. The steering wheel was professionally restored. The gauge cluster displays beautiful chrome work as well.
The original underdash A/C unit is not complete, the air conditioning compressor is missing under the hood along with various A/C components. This is an original A/C car. The steering wheel and gauge cluster is in beautiful condition, nicely restored. Fly Low or Fly High, many of our photos were taken at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom. Be sure to visit their great museum should you find yourself in Dallas, Texas.
The doors, hood, and trunk align straight. Again, this is a very attractive little Mustang. These photographs were taken on March 28th, 2014. Under the hood is the rebuilt 289 2bbl. V8. This engine underwent an extensive rebuild, completed in February and few miles have been logged since. This C-code engine runs very smooth and is paired with the C4 3-Speed Automatic. The transmission was rebuilt in March of 2012. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support.
The door undersides are in excellent condition. The trunk is solid, in good condition throughout but in need of a good replacement trunk mat to finish it out. The weatherstrip has been replaced along the decklid. The glass is in good condition along either side. Note the exceptional chrome surround on the window glass. This area is prone to pitting.
The original trim identification plate is also in place. This car was originally ordered to a Dallas, Texas dealer and is proudly displayed in our Dallas, Texas showroom. The undercarriage is in excellent condition, the flooring and frame rails are exceptional on this dry climate Mustang. The engine and transmission underside are clean as is the differential.
