Except for perhaps a 1959 Cadillac, there's no better representative of the flashy '50s that the 1957 Ford Thunderbird, and if you want to go back to the '50s this is how you do it. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this 1957 Ford T-Bird. The car seems to glow all by itself, and you can even notice in our pictures. The color reaches out to its surroundings, giving everything a very rich red.
For many, the '57 Thunderbird is a favorite, with its more pronounced fins that were a part of the 1950's automotive landscape. The body is incredibly straight, beautiful styled, comfortable, and with enough performance to keep almost any gearhead happy.
They are ideal hobby cars that can keep up with modern traffic with ease. Chrome and brightwork are dazzling, from the eggcrate grille up front to the unique rear bumper with the exhaust ports in the bumper. As seen on the license plate, the owner of this Thunderbird purchased the car in 1999 from the very well known Thunderbirds 55-57 which is the very well know company owned by Amos Minter, the guru of the "Baby Birds".
Carried away by Coker Classic wide whitewall radial and inside there is the set of chrome wire wheels with its Thunderbird name all over. The owner has kept this 57 well maintained and in excellent condition. The interior is a white on white going perfectly with the red exterior. The white hard top and soft top combine so well with the red body to give it a beautiful contrasting look.
Having that spectacular look that makes people stop in their tracks when they see this amazing car. Everything inside is finished to show standards. Including the gorgeous door panels, exceptional steering wheel, and precisely detailed gauges.
For an extra kick its owner added A/C for those states where the heat may be too much to handle. A custom autosound was added to the car as well and besides these two things, there are no updates or any more modification to keep this car as original as it can be.
A floor shifter is in place with a two speed automatic transmission on top of a red carpet. Floor mats are in place for all of the seats including those in the rear of the car. The spare tire moved back into the trunk for 1957, and this one is neatly finished with a correct reproduction mat and full sized spare tire. These thunderbirds are wonderful performers on the road, and are just as fun to drive today as they were in 1957.
Almost all of Thunderbird status goes to what is under the hood. With 270 horsepower and a 312 cu in V8 engine, this car can take you anywhere desired and at a very reasonable speed. Every detail seems to be correct, from the hardware securing the valve cover to the battery, and it runs with a healthy dual exhaust as every Thunderbird in 1957. There are only a few Thunderbird that are more desirable than this, come by Texas Classic Cars of Dallas and check this amazing car out.
As mentioned before, this 57' T-Bird comes with its hardtop, soft top and for those moments when wanting to let loose, not top at all. Even the undercarriage is as nice, and one look underneath will tell you how well this car has been kept. It shows some usage, but that's because the owner has driven and enjoyed the car.
