Fly High or Fly Low, this street rod was photographed on the streets of Dallas, Texas Classic Cars of Dallas, at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum. The Flight Museum is located only minutes from our showroom. Be sure to visit our friends there if you find yourself in Dallas, Texas. If you do not want to attract a crowd, this may not be the car for you. The paint and body are in outstanding condition. This creation is by DuSold Designs. The flame work is 1st rate. There are several pearls and colors used in this paint finish. This is a multi-layered base/clearcoat finish color-polished and sealed to a mirror finish.
The grille assembly was specially sculpted for this car & show chrome plated. It is smoothed to flow with the lines of this car. A Coast to Coast body, it was extensively massaged and modified. It has been slightly stretched and some other dimentional changes. The engine is an LS-1 crate by Street & Performance out of Mena, Arkansas. The 4L60E automatic transmission is also by Street & Performance. The engine compartment is detailed to show. This is a rolling jewelry box on display. The doors are suicide with billet popper buttons and a hidden back-up system. There are also safety dead bolts, electronically engaged and located on thebottom of the doors.
The interior features low-profile leather bucket seating. The center console is specially crafted by DuSold's fabrication department. It is a one-off creation that really fits the car. The air conditioning, window, air ride controls & stereo head unit are tucked away behind the center console's easily-accessible molded in panel. The gauges are by VDO. This is a beautiful interior. There are speakers behind the seating along with a CD head unit. The leather-wrapped partition panels hide the head unit along with the special canvas convertible top assembly. The top assembly is fitted behind these two panels, along with a padded, molded panel to fit across the seam, shown below.
The convertible top assembly is new, folded and hidden behind leather panels. We extended the top and installed it for your viewing pleasure. The top fits snug throughout. This is a special top, crafted specifically for this car with new Mercedes-Benz approved canvas material. The wheels of choice are these machine polished Budnik 17-inch front and 18-inch rears wrapped in high performance radials all around. Stopping duties are more than handled via Wilwood polished billet front and rear calipers with drilled/slotted brake rotors. The brake system is hidden in the chassis to keep the engine compartment clean.
The undercarriage is a further testament to the quality of this build. Beginning as a Coast to Coast tubular chassis, it was smooth and re-finished to show quality. A 9-inch Ford rear end with 4-link suspension was installed. The driveshaft is polished aluminum. The brake lines are polished. The tubular A-arms and front suspension is show quality. This is a great car. The paint condition matches the top. This is powder-coated chassis with base & color painted components as well. This car will do well at indoor shows with mirrors for display.
The trunk is simple, very clean and detailed. Underneath the panel you will find the air ride technology & Optima battery, easily accessible. This is your opportunity to own a 1st rate 1937 Ford Custom Convertible - Roadster. Trailer Queen or driver, whichever you prefer, this 37 will bring you a great deal of pleasure.
